Camp Director: Jaime Bairaktaris - "Mr. B"

Jaime serves as the Camp Director for Redding Travel Camp, where he oversees trip planning, staff training, safety protocols, transportation, and daily camp operations. Under his leadership, his team continued to elevate the camp experience and continue the Travel Camp tradition for the next generations of campers & their families after the 2020 shutdowns.

Outside of camp he work with technology in a middle school and previously supported special education, behavioral therapy, and math intervention in an elementary school. He serves as an EMS crew chief  for a local emergency medical service and is certified in EMT, AHA-BLS CPR, Stop the Bleed, TECC, and DCF Mandated Reporter trainings. He's a instructor for QPR Gatekeeper classes and has additional training in human-trafficking prevention, restorative practices, and as a former Red Cross lifeguard for open water. Jaime brings a strong focus on safety, organization, and creating memorable experiences for campers. 

Assistant Director: Sam Cox - "Mr. Sam"

Sam's a familiar face in the Travel Camp crowd as he returns for his fourth summer with us. He was raised in Redding and is a camp alum. He works for a nearby Montessori school and studies secondary education at a nearby university.  He has extensive experience working with children through teaching, coaching, and summer camp programs. He has served as a preschool teacher, assistant teacher, camp counselor, tennis instructor, and coach for basketball, soccer, and tennis teams. Sam brings patience, empathy, and a calm, thoughtful approach to helping campers learn, grow, and have fun. 

Counselor: Felicity Malvaso

Felicity is returning for many years as a Travel Camp member. She has several years of experience working with children through Redding Elementary School, Redding Park and Recreation, Travel Camp, and youth camp programs. She has served as a kindergarten aide, afterschool counselor, Travel Camp assistant director, and camp counselor for students from elementary through high school age. Felicity brings warmth, responsibility, and hands-on experience supporting campers throughout busy and active days. 

Counselor: Pattianne Nordt

Pattianne Nordt brings a strong education background and years of experience working with children in schools, recreation programs, and instructional settings to her second summer with Travel Camp. She has a degree in elementary and special education, experience as a school technology assistant, and a long history as an ice skating instructor, including work with children of varying abilities. Pattianne’s caring, organized, and supportive approach helps create a positive environment for campers.

Counselor: Sean Cammarano

Sean Cammarano brings energy, responsibility, and safety experience to Redding Travel Camp to his second summer of Travel Camp. He has worked as a lifeguard for a nearby town's Parks & Recreation and has experience supervising large groups of campers in active travel camp settings. Sean is studying construction management at Roger Williams University and enjoys hiking, sports, woodworking, and outdoor activities. 

Counselor: Gina Kontogiannis

Gina brings strong leadership, communication, and mentoring experience to Redding Travel Camp during her first year with us. She has coached younger athletes, volunteered with the Red Cross, supported animal care and adoption events, and gained classroom experience working with elementary students. Gina is studying political science/pre-law with a secondary education minor and enjoys helping young people feel supported, included, and encouraged.
