I’m a Redding Day Camp alum who returned in 2021 to shadow former Travel Camp Director Sarah Ewud (“Mrs. E”) as camp restarted post-pandemic. Our team continued to elevate the camp experience and continue the Travel Camp tradition for the next generations of campers & their families.
Outside of camp I work with technology in a middle school and previously supported special education, behavioral therapy, and math intervention in an elementary school. I also serve as an EMS crew chief for a local emergency medical service and have EMT, AHA-BLS, Stop the Bleed, TECC, and DCF Mandated Reporter training. I’m a trained instructor for QPR Gatekeeper classes and have additional training in human-trafficking prevention, restorative practices, and as a former Red Cross lifeguard for open water.
Sam's a familiar face in the Travel Camp crowd as he returns for his fourth summer with us. He was raised in Redding and is a camp alum. He works for a nearby Montessori school and studies secondary education at a nearby university. With experience as a middle and high school soccer, tennis, and basketball coach - he brings calm, direct guidance and lots of energy to our camp days.
Our counselors are specially trained to facilitate safety and fun across all of our trips and adventures. Our staff members include university students and local professionals who are looking to work hard in a fun, ever-changing environment. They not only act as role models for our campers, but as representatives of the Redding community to the thousands of people we will come in contact with throughout our weeks.
